Preparation before booking your PMU appointment is essential.

Discussing medical history, assessing skin suitability and obtaining informed consent is an important part of the procedure. This will help us identify any potential risks, set realistic expectations and ensure a safe treatment and successful results.

1. BOOK PATCH TEST

Before doing micropigmentation treatments it's crucial to check for sensitivities to avoid allergic reactions to the products used and minimise complications.

2. CLIENT CONSULTATION

Skin type is assessed and pre-existing medical conditions are discussed to determine suitability for the chosen PMU procedure. Clients must follow the advice provided.

3. INFORMED CONSENT

Clients must understand the information given, the potential risks and likely outcomes of PMU, including any aftercare instructions which are vital for optimum results.

4. APPOINTMENT

Clients follow the recommendations to prepare for the appointment. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any doubts or questions about the treatment.

There are several contraindications that may prevent someone from undergoing PMU procedures.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING: Hormonal changes can affect the skin's response.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Dermatitis, sunburn, skin infections or open wounds can increase discomfort and interfere with the healing process. Special precautions may be recommeded, and a doctor's approval may be necessary for autoimmune disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, or individuals taking blood-thinning medications, with blood clotting disorders, a history of keloid scarring or hypertrophic scars.
COSMETIC PROCEDURES: Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, or laser treatments in the treatment area must be avoided 4 weeks before undergoing PMU to minimise complications.
